Lack of funds, Zynga closes 11 games

Tencent Science and Technology News (Mowgli) Beijing time December 31, according to foreign media reports, as Zynga chief Executive Mark Ping (Mark Pincus) announced in November this year as part of the cost reduction plan, Zynga closed 11 games, part of which was closed on December 30. The social game developer will focus on more successful games and new game development. In addition to the announced layoffs, Zynga closed part of the game to bring the company to a recovery.

Zynga, headquartered in San Francisco, experienced an excessive expansion. At the height of the Facebook platform, Zynga developed dozens of games and later developed mobile games with the advent of smartphones. Zynga is not considered a problem when it prepares for an initial public offering.

But over the past year, Zynga's share price has gone through a slump. Investors worried that Zynga would become arrogant and no longer be able to spread the virus on Facebook for free, and that the emergence of rivals and the shift of Facebook from desktop to mobile would be a big hit for Zynga. Zynga's shares fell 3.52% per cent in Friday, at $2.33 trillion, well below the company's $10 IPO offer.

To get the company back on track, Zynga has announced a series of cost-cutting options, including layoffs of more than 100 people, closure of offices, suspension of contracts with contractors, closure of 13 games, and a sharp reduction in investment in the "Ville" game. Here's a list of the games that Zynga has closed:

--petville, to be closed on December 30;

--"Mob Wars 2" (Mafia Wars 2), to be closed on December 30;

--fishville, closed on December 5;

--vampire wars, closed on December 5;

--treasure Isle, closed on December 5;

--indiana Jones Adventure World, has terminated new user registration, will be closed on January 14, 2013;

--"Gangster wars" (Mafia Wars), from the application store shelves;

--forestville, from the application store shelves;

--montopia, closed on December 21;

--mojitomo, has been from the application store shelves;

--word Scramble Challenge, has been removed from the App Store.

The closure of these games will not have much impact on many people, but for players who have invested a lot of time and money, it is a near-catastrophic blow.
