(SHI) China's logistics and purchasing Federation released its latest figures yesterday, showing that the PMI (purchasing Managers index) was 53.1 in May, down 0.4% from last month.　　As an important indicator of economic activity, PMI is a composite index consisting of related economic indices, such as production, new orders, export orders, and usually the PMI index above 50%, reflecting the overall expansion of the economy, below 50% per cent, reflecting the recession. Statistics show that in 20 industries, the beverage industry, the tobacco industry, the petroleum processing and coking industry, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, ferrous metal smelting and calendering processing industry, and other 14 industries PMI higher than 50%; chemical and chemical products manufacturing, general equipment manufacturing, wood processing and furniture manufacturing, textiles,　　The metal products industry, the pharmaceutical industry 6 industry PMI is less than 50%. After a trough last November, PMI maintained a monthly warming trend this year, hitting a 53.5 high in April. Relevant experts said that, as investment, consumer demand increased growth, the production of the pulling role is increasing, although the May PMI index slightly lower, but the overall level of PMI continued to remain above 50, indicating that the economic recovery has not changed the situation.
