Last year, global flat-panel sales of 195.4 million Android accounted for 62%

Sina Science and technology news Beijing time March 3, Gartner published a report today, 2013 Global tablet computer sales of 195.4 million, an increase of 68%. Gartner pointed out that, mainly low-end, small size tablets, as well as the first purchase of user growth and other factors to promote the rapid growth of tablet sales in 2013. Android is the leading tablet operating system, with a market share of 62%, equivalent to 120.9 million, the report shows. The market share of iOS dropped to 36%, equivalent to 70.4 million. The market share of iOS slipped 16.8% last year, largely because market demand was driven by a rise in the quality of small-scale tablet PCs for branded manufacturers. Android, by contrast, has a market share of only 45.8% for 2012 years. Sales of Tablet PCs in emerging markets rose 145% last year, compared with a 31% increase in developed markets. Sales of Microsoft's tablet computers have increased (4.3 million), but the market share is still only 2.1%. Apple still holds the largest market share, at 36%, or 70.4 million, according to its manufacturers. Samsung followed, with a market share of 19.1% and sales of 37.4 million units. Asus third, the market share of 5.6%, sales of 11 million. Amazon and Lenovo are listed in the fourth and fifth place, with a market share of 4.8% and 3.3% respectively.
