Shan, Berlin, September 4 (Xinhua) The German federal cabinet has passed a draft law on the protection of consumers ' rights in online commerce, submitted by the Federal Ministry of Justice. The bill stipulates that consumers should be informed about the future costs of their products before they are signed online by clicking the mouse, limiting some dubious business models in online commerce. With the popularization of online commerce, more and more consumption through the mouse click and credit card payment to complete, but in the convenience of users, some businesses are also making full use of their own favorable business model to promote, resulting in a lot of consumers unknowingly caught in the trap. A typical example of this is a free game with built-in pay options. such as the "Smurfs Village" game can be downloaded free of charge to the ipad, but in the course of the game to buy "smurf berries" and other props will cost a real dollar. Many times, consumers may not notice the vague hint of "software with extra charge" when they click to download the free game, or they might not be aware of the future cost of the product. As a result, the new rules drafted by the German Federal Ministry of Justice apply particularly to online products that appear to be free and hide high prices in the small print tip. The regulatory requirement ensures that consumers are aware of all the daily costs of the product by clicking on the button, and this so-called button solution is also in line with the guidelines that the European Parliament passed first reading this June. The bill still needs to be passed on to the German Senate and Bundestag for consideration. German Federal Minister of Justice Sabin Rod-Schnallenberger said that according to the survey, more than 5 million of Internet users have encountered such a consumer trap, and in the future, consumers will only be responsible for the payments they clearly know when ordering. The German consumer protection minister, Irse Aigner, also welcomed the new target, saying profiteers would no longer have the opportunity to hide prices from online consumers. Dieter Kempf, chairman of the industry association Bitkom, said the "button solution" added to the transparency of consumers, making it increasingly difficult for companies to develop with subscription traps.
