Lenovo appoints Jerry Yang as independent non-executive director

November 6 News, Lenovo Group announced today that the board of directors, Jerry Yang was appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company since today (6th) effective. After the appointment comes into effect, Mr Yang will no longer be the board inspector of the company.

The announcement showed that Mr Yang and Lenovo had signed a letter of appointment and were appointed as associate independent Non-executive directors for a term of three years, and were required to retire and elect a second term in accordance with the association's rules and regulations at the annual general meeting.

Mr Yang now holds Lenovo's 24,391 shares of common shares and has an equity stake in 550,852 shares under a long-term incentive plan. In addition, during his term of office, Mr Yang will be paid a total of $287,500, including $87,500 in cash, and an equity interest of $200,000.

Jerry Yang co-founded Yahoo Inc., now an independent director of Workday Inc. and Alibaba Group, which shares all two companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

According to the data, Jerry Yang holds a Bachelor of Science and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and is currently a member of the Stanford University Trust Board. (Ajukhan)
