As the world's largest computer maker, Lenovo plans to invest 5 million extra dollars in Thailand in 2014 to boost its market share, the Bangkok Post reported November 10.
Jeerawut wongpi Mo Nporn, general manager of Thailand, said Lenovo's Asia headquarters had approved additional budget proposals. The budget of 2.003 billion dollars will be used to expand marketing channels, strengthen marketing, improve business management, the remaining funds will be used for Office repair and server Demonstration Center building.
Lenovo is about to complete the IBM X86 Server business acquisition. Jeerawut said Lenovo's three main businesses in Thailand include computers, mobile phones and servers, and the company plans to open up new business in the area of cloud computing and ecosystem services.
Since entering the Thai market in 2005, Lenovo's turnover has grown at a rate of 10 times times, from 7 million to 10 million dollars to 100 million dollars.
