In the fourth quarter, the group's combined sales rose 56% per cent to $4.3 billion trillion, in China, where Lenovo's combined sales in the quarter were 2 billion U.S. dollars and an annual growth of 67%, according to earnings reports. Accounting for 45.3% of the group's global sales, its market share in China reached 28.7%, with total sales rising by 57% over a year earlier (the region's overall market sales rose 47%). In emerging markets, Lenovo's PC sales rose 95% per cent year-on-year in the quarter, nearly three times times the overall PC market in the region. In the mature market, Lenovo's fourth quarter combined sales of 1.6 billion U.S. dollars, an annual growth of 33.7%, accounting for the group's total global sales of 37.5%. Lenovo's chief executive, Yang, said the company had been the fastest-growing maker of the world's top five computer makers for two consecutive quarters, and the group's profits continued to improve, with global market share reaching record highs throughout the year. Referring to the company's future development priorities, Yang said Lenovo is looking forward to the mobile internet market, and Lenovo has launched smartphone phone products and smart products skylight for the market. As for Lenovo's market expectations for Lok phone, Yang said, "The first year is the incubation period, the focus is not how much profit, but the big sales and seize the market, access to user recognition." "Lenovo's laptops continue to be the largest source of total global sales, accounting for about 62% of the group's total sales," according to earnings reports. Asked if he would leave Lenovo's board once again after the "cliff" was successfully taken, Mr Liu said he would personally witness and experience this period, and that he would not unload the burden until the "high-speed train with Lenovo's development was stabilized at high speed."
