"Caijing comprehensive report" LG Electronics and Sony announced in Thursday that both sides removed patent infringement lawsuits against each other, and reached a cross licensing agreement on patents for smartphones, digital televisions and Blu-ray technology. But spokesmen for both sides are reluctant to disclose further details. Three years ago, the technology sharing agreement between LG and Sony expired. Sony sued the US International Trade Commission, accusing LG's tablets and smartphones of violating its patent rights and applying for a restraining order banning LG's infringing products from entering the U.S. market. LG then filed a lawsuit against the International Trade Commission, accusing the Sony PS3 game of violating its patented Blu-ray technology. Due to LG's request, the Dutch customs has also detained a large number of Sony PS3 game consoles.
