Hong Kong, China, June 3 (Xinhua) The HKEx announced 3rd that the HKEx has appointed Li to replace Mr Chow as the chief Executive Officer and board member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Group, with effect from next January 16. Mr Chow will retire January 15 next year to ensure a smooth handover, Li will take up the job this October 16. The HKEx announced last March that Mr Chow is scheduled to retire in 2010. The chairman of the Hong Kong stock Exchange, Mr Ronald Arculli, said he was grateful to Mr Chow for leading the Hong Kong exchange over the past six years to make outstanding achievements in enhancing the regulatory and business performance of HKEx and to enable HKEx to meet the challenges in an increasingly competitive environment. Li, aged 48, has about 20 years of experience in investment banking and legal affairs, and has served in New York International law firms and international investment banks in Beijing, Hong Kong and New York.
