Supplemental Note: Ispell presets use/usr/lib/ispell/english.hash dictionary files to check text files. If you find a dictionary that is not available in the document you are examining, Ispell will suggest the words you use, or you can add new words to your personal dictionary.
Parameters:
-A This parameter must be used when other program outputs are sent to Ispell.
-A when read to the "&include file&" string, the contents of the file specified after the string are checked.
-B produces a backup file with a. bak file name.
-B Check for hyphenation errors.
-C does not check for hyphenation errors.
-d< dictionary file > Specify dictionary file.
-L reads the string from the standard input device and displays the misspelled words at the end.
-l< number of rows > Specifies the number of lines displayed in the text.
-M automatically consider the change in the end of the word.
When-M enters the Ispell, it displays the command key below the screen.
-N checks for a noff or troff file format.
-N After entering the Ispell, the command key is not displayed below the screen.
-p< dictionary file > Specify a personal dictionary file.
-P does not take into account the change in the end of the word.
-S does not sort the suggested substituted vocabulary.
-T check for files in Tex or latex format.
-V non-ANSI standard characters are displayed in "m-^" mode.
-w< non-alphabetic characters > checks, specifically singled out with the specified characters.
-w< string length > does not check for a specified length of vocabulary.
-X do not generate backup files.
