It is to be noted that many Linux distributions provide their own Nvidia Linux graphics driver compression packs in their native package management format. This allows better interaction with the rest of these distributions, and users may prefer to use such drivers rather than the official version of the Nvidia package.

Also note that SUSE users should read the SuSE NVIDIA installer guide before downloading the driver.

Installation instructions: Once the driver has been downloaded, switch to the folder containing the driver compression package and install the driver by running the following as the root directory.

Sh./nvidia-linux-x86-96.43.23-pkg1.run

The last installation step increases whether the X configuration file is updated. Select an update, or manually edit the x configuration file to take the Nvidia X driver, or run

Nvidia-xconfig
