Mail Service is the most important network service that users need. Web traffic is large, but messages are primarily used for communication between individuals, and human-human communication is the basis of business. In other words, if the user is not provided with full TCP/IP mail support, such a network operating system is not trustworthy.
Configuring SendMail is a large and complex task, but not entirely so, and Linux has already configured most of the settings compared to other network server systems that only install SMTP server software. In most systems, the default configuration works well. I will give some configuration recommendations in this chapter, and some of the main configuration parameters suggest that you do not change them arbitrarily.

Controls the configuration of the SendMail runtime. The complete sendmail configuration should include 7 parts:
Local Info: This section defines the local host's information
Options: Use to set options that define the SendMail environment.
Message precedence (priority of messages): SendMail message priority
Trusted users (Trusted user): Defines the user who is allowed to change the sending address when sending a message
Format of Headers (header format): Defines message header information inserted in SendMail
Rewriting rules (rewrite rule): This section holds the Override mail address command Use this command to rewrite the e-mail address from the address of the user's mail program to the address form required by the mail-sending program.
Mailer definition (Mailing description): Defines the program that sends the message, and the rules that are used by the sender are defined in this section.
