GNOME Desktop

Desktop is a component of the operating system that controls the elements displayed on the desktop, such as panels, wallpapers, control centers, menus, and so on.

Desktop settings

Desktop settings is a tool designed specifically for Linux mint that allows you to quickly configure parts of your GNOME desktop that you often use.

Click the menu button (at the bottom left of your screen), select Preferences, click Desktop Settings.

The Linux Mint has its own menu, which is inspired by SuSE, but it's different from SuSE.

The Linux Mint also has the GNOME default menu, and later we'll explain how to activate the Gnome default menu. The Linux Mint menu is worth studying. Maybe she's not the same desktop you used to use, but when you get used to it, you'll love her.
