At CES a few weeks ago, Corning announced the next generation of Gorilla Glass, which boasts a greater strength under thinner shapes, and that mainstream handset makers such as HTC and Samsung are now known to have ordered second-generation Corning Glass products. The engineers readjusted the particle spacing in the new glass, allowing more potassium to be absorbed into the glass, creating a more intense, thinner-shaped glass with better toughness and a higher transmittance.
