In view of the problems existing in processing speed, storage space, fault tolerance and access time of mass data processing, this paper analyzes the principle and implementation process of Google MapReduce programming model, from four aspects of MapReduce and index construction, statistical machine translation, clustering algorithm and text classification, This paper summarizes the main applications of MapReduce programming model in natural language processing and information retrieval, in order to have a comprehensive understanding of MapReduce programming model principle and its main application.
