Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is helping to form a lobbying group aimed at promoting policy reforms in areas such as education and immigration, U.S. media reported.
The 28-year-old Zuckerberg is helping the IT industry to form a political group, according to media outlets such as the San Francisco Chronicle, the political newspaper, and the Wall Street Journal, who are not publicly named.
The group is not currently named, aiming to raise 50 million of billions of dollars. Zuckerberg and other information technology business executives have donated a lot.
Silicon Valley has long been "struggling" with the government over a broader range of immigration policy reforms, seeking visas or green cards for more foreigners with engineering, science or some scientific research capabilities.
It is also the focus of Silicon Valley to promote the status and curriculum of natural sciences, mathematics and Engineering in American universities and to encourage research and development to foster innovative policies.
