Measurement and calculation of urban road travel time based on MapReduce

The calculation of urban road travel time is always one of the core problems in the intelligent transportation system, and accurate and efficient travel time calculation can effectively help the road control and reduce traffic congestion. However, in the face of huge and fast-growing urban road traffic detection data, how to integrate the distributed computing model into the traditional travel time calculation problem has become an urgent problem to be solved. Based on the massive road license plate recognition data, this paper designs an algorithm for measuring the travel time of urban road based on MapReduce programming model. The implementation of the Hadoop environment can support the calculation of road travel time in different time sections under the custom Road set. The experimental results show that the travel time calculation mode based on MapReduce can be increased by more than 10 times times compared with the traditional method of travel time calculation.
