Tencent Science and Technology (Beckham) Beijing time October 17 news, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft announced in Tuesday to acquire cloud storage services company Storsimple, but did not disclose the details of the deal. Prior to the acquisition, Storsimple was already a Microsoft partner.
Storsimple is headquartered in California and its products are available more than a year ago. Storsimple co-founder and CEO Urcht Paric (Ursheet Parikh) said most customers would choose Microsoft's Windows Azure cloud service after they signed the Storsimple Cloud Management system agreement with their customers.
Storsimple's technology can create an interface that is easy to use and manage, helping companies store and back up using public cloud system services such as Windows Azure or VMware. "This is in line with our goal of building a cloud operating system," said Michael Park, vice president of Microsoft's server and Tools division, Michael Park. We are very happy with the prospect and think that Storsimple will be a big complement to Microsoft. ”
Neither Microsoft nor Storsimple has disclosed support plans for VMware products after the acquisition, but Microsoft says it will continue to work with other partners in the field. Microsoft is trying to fully integrate cloud storage and automated cloud backup services into the operating system, such as a number of cloud-based features for Windows 8, which is scheduled to be released next week.
