July 2 News, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft through a dedicated developer's Twitter account announced that the company's Windows8 App Store reached a new milestone, the number of applications more than 100,000.
The milestone has allowed Microsoft to develop WINDOWS8 app stores faster than the Windows Phone store, which took 1.5 of hours to reach that level. In contrast, Apple's Mac App Store was launched 2.5 ago and currently has an estimated 15,000 applications. The Windows Store theoretically overtook the Mac App store sometime before November 2012.
Clearly, for Microsoft, this data is well worth celebrating and encouraging. In the era of horizontal integration systems, having a strong developer community is more important than ever. In particular, Microsoft has recently embarked on a unified code base that allows developers to publish applications that apply to multiple platforms, such as Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and Xbox One, with minimal effort.
