Microsoft builds world-class innovation and service base in China

Shanghai, March 31 (Xinhua Shevit) The first phase of Microsoft China Shanghai Science and Technology Park--a project completed and opened today. The first to be located in the park is Microsoft Asia Pacific Research and Development Group and Microsoft Asia-Pacific Global Technical Support Center.　　At present, the new park has more than 1500 employees, the overall completion will reach 7000 people. Microsoft China Shanghai Science and Technology Park is located in Shanghai Minhang, a period of construction area of 55,000 square meters, the future overall park completed, will occupy an area of 96,000 square meters.　　The first stage investment is 700 million yuan. "Building a science and technology park in Shanghai is a manifestation of Microsoft's confidence in China," said Dr Zhang, Microsoft's senior vice president and Microsoft Asia Pacific Research Group chairman, in an interview with reporters. With the development of China's information industry, China has become a global research and development base and innovation base from an emerging market, which occupies an increasingly important position in the multinational enterprise strategy. Microsoft in China to set up a park is to work with partners, grasp the cloud computing, green it, and so will profoundly affect the future of innovation opportunities, and gradually build the new park into Microsoft and local area IT industry cooperation Center, the global Technical Support Center and Microsoft outside the United States Research and Development Strategy Center.　　"As one of the Microsoft teams in the new park, Microsoft Asia Pacific Global Technology Support Center has been in Shanghai for more than 10 years-as early as November 1997, Microsoft set up a technical support center in Shanghai, and in October 2001 officially upgraded to Microsoft's top five global technical Support Center." In addition to the Shanghai Science and Technology Zone, Microsoft is also building a technology park in Beijing. With the completion of two Beijing and Shanghai campuses, Microsoft will have 12,000 employees in China.
