Microsoft completes acquisition of Nokia handset business deals slightly better

Nokia announced in Friday that it had completed a deal to sell its handsets to Microsoft, and that only a single plant in India and South Korea was not included in the deal, Reuters reported. The company said it now expects the final deal to be slightly higher than the 5.44 billion euros (about $7.52 billion trillion) originally announced. Nokia said the deal contained a license to the company's patent portfolio, and that the deal was postponed to completion, pending approval from the Chinese government and other regulatory authorities. After the sale, Nokia will end the handset production business, focus on the network, map services and technology development and licensing.
