As the most popular and innovative company in the industry, Apple has not loved to Las Vegas The International Consumer Electronics Fair (Consumer Electronics Show). Starting next year, Microsoft will also fade out of Las Vegas International Consumer Electronics Show.

On the evening of 9th, Microsoft CEO Ballmer released the company's last keynote address at the show. As the industry giant, which has been firmly in support of electronic exhibition, Microsoft has made a keynote speech at the exhibition for 14 consecutive years, and its exit is bound to cast a shadow over the declining International Consumer electronics exhibition in recent years.

Product lack of "bright spot"

The International Consumer Electronics Show, hosted by the American Association of Consumer Electronics Manufacturers, has been seen as an important venue for the release of the latest electronic technology and products, and a bellwether for the future trend of consumer electronics products. The exhibition was officially opened 10th local time and closed on 13th.

However, in recent years, the International Consumer Electronics Show more and more lack of an immediate bright products, many of the hot products at the show short-lived, failed to get consumer recognition and lead the industry trend. For example, after Apple launched the best-selling ipad, various manufacturers have short-based the tablet computer market, the 2011 show many of the same products noisy. However, many tablets failed to get into the market and were stillborn, and successful listings failed to shake Apple's dominance in the field.

This year's show is also hard to be optimistic about. Many manufacturers and analysts said that the main products at the show is not revolutionary, many are already on the market, but only in the lighter, thinner and other factors on the small progress.

In recent years, due to the rapid changes in the market and the continuous development of new media, business and consumer communication is more and more rapid, more direct, many enterprises began to put aside the exhibition and to consumers to introduce new products, and achieved good results.

For example, when Apple launches a new product, it will hold a press conference on its own, rather than appearing at an electronic exhibition. Still, Apple's influence on electronics shows no less than any exhibiting company. Amazon's Kindle, launched in 2011, fire a flat whirlwind that is trying to hit Apple's hegemony. However, the product has not been exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Fair. Google's Android operating system, which has been developed by partners at the show, is not part of the search giant itself.

Conflict with enterprise development time

In announcing the fade out decision, one of the reasons Microsoft mentioned was that "our product development schedule is in conflict with the annual electronic Show (January)." Las Vegas International Consumer Electronics exhibition fixed in January each year, and the United States year-end shopping season interval is too short, ready too hasty, which has long been criticized by many manufacturers. As a result, Microsoft has not yet released important new products at the Consumer Electronics Show, and chief executive Steve Ballmer's keynote speech always speaks of products that are known to all; instead, Microsoft attended the World Mobile Communications Conference in Barcelona in February and the June Los Angeles E3 game show, Will release many important new product information.

"Microsoft's decision will prompt other manufacturers to look at the return on investment in the show, and HP has substantially reduced its presence in the consumer Electronics Show, and Apple has not even set up a booth," said Rothman Eps, an analyst at Rister Research. ”

Eppes said he would not be surprised if Asian companies such as Samsung or LG took over Microsoft's mantle to deliver keynote speeches. Given Samsung's hard work and dominance in Android, the company may be the best candidate. Samsung launched the use of Google's Android phone two years ago, will further enrich the relevant products, improve its product line. In addition, Amazon, Google is also recognized by the industry as the right company.

However, no matter which company wins, as more and more technology giants are drifting away from electronic exhibitions, the impact of the Las Vegas International Consumer Electronics Show is an indisputable fact.

At the opening of the International Electronic Consumer Exhibition, the company, which did not participate, said 9th that its CEO, Cook, paid close to $378 million last year, in stark contrast to the 1-dollar annual salary paid by former CEO Steve Jobs. Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up for the first annual shareholder meeting since Mr. Jobs died last October.

Mr Cook's remuneration, which includes restricted stock, is intended to keep Cook because the shares are restricted to 10 years. Cook earned about 900,000 dollars in 2011. Although Mr Jobs had only been paid a nominal wage, jobs owned Apple stocks.
