Microsoft finally compromised, Office apps will be pre-installed on Android

Microsoft announced a new improvement agreement between the company and Samsung in Monday. Under the new protocol, Microsoft's Office apps will be pre-installed in Samsung's Tablet PC with Android. In addition, Microsoft also announced that the company also cooperates with 11 other Android device manufacturers to carry out the same business, including Microsoft's close partner Dell Company.

Pre-installed Office applications include word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, OneDrive, and Skype.

The new partnership between Microsoft and Samsung comes shortly after the two sides announced a co-operation agreement last month. Last month, Microsoft and Samsung announced that Samsung would install some of Microsoft's cloud applications into Samsung's next-generation flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

For now, Microsoft's collaboration with Samsung is an interesting way to attack its old rival, Google.

As we all know, Google controls the Android operating system, but it is free to use Android for device manufacturers. Google's way to make money is primarily through the integration of search capabilities into Android devices, and once a user buys apps, Google will get a split. Another lucrative channel for Google in this regard is to encourage users to use Android phones that install other paid services from Google, such as Google Apps (Google Apps).

While Microsoft is not really trying to kill Google's ability to profit from Android, Microsoft has a chance to sign a deal with Samsung to squeeze Google. This is mainly because Samsung appears to be doing a good job of implementing a commitment. Previously, Samsung had promised to allow users to remove unwanted apps from Android devices.

The S6 edge handset, leaked on the Android developer XDA in the Saturday, suggests that Microsoft apps pre-installed in the device could be removed, including OneNote, OneDrive and Skype. Of course, pre-installed Google Apps can also be removed, such as Gmail, Drive, and even Google search services that are pre-installed. This shows that users, if they want to, can turn the next generation of Samsung phones into a Microsoft-friendly handset, which will hit Google.
