Microsoft and At&t Strategic Alliance, together to provide customers with cloud computing services

The main conversation about cloud computing revolves around the cloud migration. This partnership will authorize customers to access Windows Azure as a logical extension of their existing data centers. A federated solution provides additional security benefits, reduces latency, and speeds data transfer.

According to Forrester, an industry analyst, 70% of multinational companies have adopted global MPLS (Multiprotocol label switching) services. These high-performance networks make it easy to create secure virtual links between customer data centers around the world. By working with At&t, we allow customers to connect to Windows Azure using an existing MPLS VPN. Given the leadership of at&t in this field, we can offer this solution to many customers.

An increasing number of enterprise customers are looking for closer connections to public cloud providers, blurring the boundaries between the public cloud and the internal deployment data center. The message announced today, plus the existing product Windows Azure virtual network, provides customers with multiple options for connecting to Windows Azure.
