Microsoft joins chat for Web page Word and PowerPoint

This July, following Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's emphasis on "mobile and cloud first", weakening "equipment and services" strategy, these ideas are now beginning to reflect on the product.

November 20 Microsoft announces that it will embed Skype online chat features in the Web page (online) Office Tools (Word and PowerPoint, excluding Excel), and further promote the integration and Internet of its products.

Last year, Microsoft Office Web Apps began supporting real-time collaborative editing, and the Office Web Apps has been unable to compare with Google Docs for lack of real-time collaboration elements. Microsoft's Web Chat feature will be a good complement to Microsoft's collaborative editing, thanks to Skype, the Internet phone and chat tool, that can still be viewed in Skype and interrupted by chat when you have finished turning off the current page.

By contrast, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides provide group chat options, but because the web Chat feature of these products and the main chat products Hangouts has not yet been integrated, so the hangouts can not have a full chat history.

Microsoft said the chat feature was officially online for "a few weeks".
