Microsoft launches a new app named Bing Map preview for Windows 8.1

Beijing time December 6 morning News, Microsoft Thursday for Windows 8.1 launched a "Bing Map Preview" application, similar to Google Earth, this product can also convert the map to a real 3D image.

The new app is already on the shelves in Windows store. With this application, Microsoft Map users can get similar experience with Google Earth, not only can see a variety of city streets satellite pictures, but also can leap mountains, enjoy the natural scenery.

The default Bing Maps and new Bing map previews are already on the shelves of Windows store, which provide maps and satellite views, but the preview can switch between the 2D and 3D views at will, with a compass and a permanent search bar in the upper-right corner.

The new Bing Map preview can search for specific destinations, plan the lines between two points, and use Microsoft's "local reconnaissance" feature to find nearby points of interest. Microsoft even integrates maps with Skype to achieve a click Call function.

The previous Bing maps used "Bird's-eye view", while the new version uses a real 3D image, and can be magnified, scaled, and rotated. But this feature currently supports a relatively limited number of cities.

The new Bing Map preview also offers a similar view to Google, where users can look at local traffic and save it as a separate dynamic tile to facilitate real-time access to road information.
