Microsoft Phase CyanogenMod

Microsoft's current CEO, Satya Nadella, recently held talks with a leading third-party Android ROM team Cyanogen to expand the company's mobile business.

Presumably for most Android users, CyanogenMod is a familiar name. As the famous Android third-party ROM it is favored by many users and developers, many ROM is based on its modified customization. Domestic mobile phone brand a plus in this year also chose its deep cooperation.

Prior to Microsoft, a number of technology companies, including Amazon, Samsung and Yahoo, had expressed keen interest in the team, and were continuing to see if they could become potential partners or acquisitions.

At the end of last year, CyanogenMod got a16z's B-round 23 million dollar financing, striving to be the third largest mobile operating system in the world. Currently, the CyanogenMod team has hired executives from EA and Facebook to prepare for the upcoming C-round financing.
