Tencent Science and Technology (LI) Beijing time May 9 News, according to the U.S. Science and technology blog TechCrunch Wednesday reported that Microsoft intends to offer 1 billion U.S. dollars to acquire the digital assets of the Nook media. Nook Media is a subsidiary of BASF, mainly responsible for Barnes's digital and college business. At the start of the Nook media, Microsoft invested 300 million dollars in the company's 17.6% per cent stake. Subsequently, however, the British publishing Company (Pearson) invested $85 million in the Nook media company and gained a 5% per cent stake in the Shang. Pearson's investment led to a 16.8% per cent fall in Microsoft's equity holdings. According to Microsoft's internal documents, the company will buy the Nook Media preferred stock, but Nook Media will continue to operate E-books, Nook E-readers and tablet computers. The paper also shows that the Nook media program will terminate its support for the Android tablet computer by the end of fiscal year 2014 and release its content through applications on Third-party partners ' devices. This February, there were reports that Barnes would stop producing the Nook tablet computer because of poor sales. However, Microsoft's paper has not yet mentioned whether third-party tablet products are Windows 8 devices. The paper also shows that the third-party tablet will be listed in 2014. Microsoft and Barnes spokesmen have yet to comment on the report. According to TechCrunch's documents, the current market capitalisation is about $1.66 billion trillion. However, at the beginning of its inception, the Nook was worth 1.7 billion of dollars, and when Pearson invested 85 million dollars, it was worth about 1.8 billion dollars. If the deal goes well, Microsoft's 1 billion-dollar deal is a bargain.
