August 7, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft said recently that they are planning to set up the first cloud data center in India, if the plan goes well, the company will become the first in India to establish a cloud data center of multinationals.

"We are planning to set up a cloud data center in India," said Jim Dubois, vice president and chief information officer at Microsoft. There are a number of companies in various areas that are focused on the cloud data market and expect Microsoft to plan how it will be implemented anyway. "Currently, the company provides cloud computing services to Indian customers through the International data Center."

However, the central bank had previously imposed a ban on the storage of any customer data outside India, limiting the use of cloud data by financial services companies. While cloud services are currently less than 5% of Microsoft's total revenue, it is one of the fastest growing businesses. "Microsoft's cloud services are doubling or three times times per month, not every year," says Du Bois. "The public cloud services market will grow from $423 million trillion in 2013 to $1.3 billion trillion in 2017, according to Geithner, a well-known data-research agency, and Geithner expects India to be the fastest-growing market for cloud data in the world."

Still, none of the big cloud companies, including Amazon, Google and Microsoft, currently has a local data center. Microsoft has 13 data centers around the world for its cloud computing services, Amazon has 8, Google has 12. In Asia, the data centers of three companies are set up in Singapore, none in mainland China or India.

The unpredictable electronic supply between regions, intermittent network connectivity, limited broadband and erratic fibre connections all limit the companies ' data centers in India. However, with the rapid development of cloud data, this is bound to change.

"The groundwork has been done in the past few years, and now India's customers already know the nuances of the public cloud data," Naveen Mishra, head of research and development at Geithner, said Mishra. We've heard that Amazon is considering setting up a data center in India, but there's no movement. ”

Mr Geithner believes investing in a cloud-setting centre in India will actively promote political and economic development in India. "It's very optimistic that everyone will believe that the establishment of the data center will promote the growth of business investment and IT industry," Mishra said. ”
