LBS Location Service's main user group 70% uses the GPS navigation, 46% uses the weather reminder function, 38% wants to obtain the updated road condition information, 38% wants to obtain the hotel information and its reviews, 36% uses to find nearby convenience service.

The results of the survey show that location-based services are progressing, especially as the service continues to solve many practical problems for people. Interestingly, only 18% of users use lbs social services and 10% of users to play lbs games.

Business value

According to the survey, as location-based services are gradually accepted by consumers, they will have great commercial value. Near-1∕5 respondents viewed geographical retailing as advertising, with 46% per cent of them saying they would visit shops or use coupons for these ads.

As one of the most popular markets for lbs location service, the United States has the highest frequency of use (55%) and the possibility of the largest lbs ad consumption (55%), and the highest proportion (99%) of users consider lbs as a valuable service.

While it may take some time for location-based services to be popular, people now seem to be seeing only the prospect of helping people live and get discounted coupons. This is also the Foursquare and other places to apply the main push discount, recommendations, such as the actual function of service.

Privacy concerns

The results of the survey suggest that the main reason for the popularity of lbs is that people are concerned about privacy issues. One of the biggest fears is the fear of disclosing information about oneself to unidentified organizations or others without permission.
