I was very excited to announce the announcement. NET Windows Azure SDK-2012 year June edition, available for download now. This SDK provides tools for Visual Studio SP1 and Visual Studio RC. I'm very glad that you've been expecting visual Studio 2012 to support the features of the Azure SDK. For more information on the platforms released today, I recommend that you visit Scott Guthrie's blog or come across Windows Azure today.
Visual Studio has been dedicated to providing you with the best tools for developing cloud services. We have embarked on two aspects to achieve this goal. One is to provide an efficient tool for Windows Azure applications, which will be covered later in detail. The other is a management tool that provides an application lifecycle that can help shorten the cycle and accelerate deployment (see my previous blog Continuation value pass). Today we have announced new features for the development of cloud-based services, including continuous integration and continuous deployment. For these new features, you can view your subordinate history and integrate them.
I encourage you to visit Brian Harry's blog, which has a further demonstration of the new features.
Latest platforms and tools
Based on last week's blog post to release the visual Studio 2012 candidate, you can build Windows Azure cloud Services and Windows Azure Web sites locally with the VS 2012 candidate. This follows our principle that the release of a tool needs to be at the same pace as the release of the platform. You can also create solutions that combine Windows Azure projects with your favorite client projects. You can also choose the operating system for your development machine, including Windows7, Windows2008, Windows 8 R2, Windows 8 RP, and Windows Server 8 Rp.
If you selected the visual Studio 2012 candidate, you will find that installing the Windows Azure SDK is lightweight. On a 64-bit machine, the installation package is about 35 megabytes. We can do this because the Windows Azure SDK works with the streamlined IIS Express and SQL LocalDB development servers, and SQL LocalDB is released with VS2012RC (or included in the VS 2010 for download) SP1). You will also notice that using these services to develop requires only a small amount of user Configuration or no user configuration, the program will run with your current logged-on user. The current version of the tool still requires to run as an administrator-but our goal is to eliminate this requirement in future releases. SQL Server Express and the full IISServer still support the option of local development mode.
In the past, it was problematic to upgrade the Azure SDK and related tools directly. This is why we support the SDK as compatible with the November 2011 and later SDK releases. You can install the November 2011 and June 2012 SDK versions on the same machine and continue to use the SDK version that your project requires. In addition, cloud developers on a team can use Visual Studio SP1 or use Visual Studio RC if they have a matching SDK version installed. These environments are compatible.
Project
You will notice that there are many updates to our project. The first is that the Windows Azure Project is renamed Windows Azurecloud Service, synchronized with a computing container that is renamed for unlimited expansion and multi-level services. You can still add cloud services to an existing Web project by using the Add Windows Azure Cloud service. The front end of the WEB project can be deployed locally to the new Windows Azure Web Sites preview container. For more information < see the blog post > on the WA website.
Now when we create azure projects, we can add the most common NuGet packages and binary references for cloud development, that is, runtime, diagnostics, storage, and configuration. We added a NuGet package specifically for Windows Azure Storage, adding additional packages for all new Windows Azure Cloudconfigurationmanager categories.
Cloudconfigurationmanager makes it easier to read configuration files, using intelligent algorithms to first check your cloud configuration file (. cscfg), and rollback to check web.config/app.config files when the primary key and configuration system are configured to be invalid. I am very excited about this new API because it allows you to read configuration information in just one line of code. You can use the best practice by default to allow Dev-op to overwrite configurations in each target environment. NuGet is also a powerful framework for cloud developers because it allows you to search our latest version of the Windows Azure Client library and it allows you to update notifications in Guget Package Manager.
Several project template options are added to the SDK. For example, the new Web Template type I mentioned earlier: the MVC4 and MVC4 Web APIs. There are also two new job role versions, one is the worker roles with the Service bus Queue, and the other is the cache Worker part, which optimizes windows The role of Azure services. The service bus developer needs to check the new queues and topics features of the server node in the resource servers.
More advanced, our custom file or folder structure can be installed with our cloud services to the role. This allows for enhanced customization, packaged and deployed into your role or virtual machine. Simply right-click the Azure project and choose Add-> Item ... Or add a-> folder.
