September 8-Microsoft's Windows Live service has had a serious downtime, with Hotmail, Office 365, and SkyDrive all affected. Microsoft now explains that the accident was caused by a failed upgrade of the DNS server. Microsoft updates the DNS server's network Traffic load Balancing tool, but the update does not work correctly, causing configuration settings to break, causing service disruption. Microsoft has judged the reason for a corrupted file on the DNS server. The corrupted file causes two rare cases to occur at the same time. The first situation relates to how load-balancing devices respond to malformed input strings; The second scenario is to configure DNS server synchronization to ensure that the client requests return the same response.
