April 12, according to foreign media reports, Microsoft in Monday, held in Atlanta Convergence Conference announced that Microsoft will dynamics ERP (Enterprise resource planning) applications to the Azure cloud platform. This late move is a major shift in Microsoft's sales of Dynamics apps. Microsoft used to sell dynamics through partners in a way that was internally deployed and hosted.
Microsoft said in a statement that the next important release of Dynamics software would run on the Azure platform. Users will be able to migrate to this cloud service on their own terms.
Microsoft also plans to discuss how partners can benefit from the Azure deployment model. For example, partners will be able to sell vertical applications, services, and plug-ins with cloud capabilities through the dynamics market.
Microsoft also showed the Dynamics AX 2012 software to participants at the show in Monday. The beta version of this ERP software will be launched this month, and the general release is expected to be launched this August.
Microsoft says the functionality of Dynamics AX 2012 software includes a series of "unified natural models". Microsoft calls these models a business process library that reflects the world.
In addition, Microsoft has announced that Dynamics SL 2011 and Dynamics CRM 2011 software are now available. Dynamics GP R2 will be available on May 1 this year.
Steve Ballmer, Microsoft's chief executive, and vice president of Microsoft's Business Solutions Kiril Tatrinov (Kirill Tatarinov) are expected to discuss the news and other topics in his Monday Ballmer speech.
