The News (reporter Sun Suyi) just put Google "embrace" Motorola or will usher in its acquisition after the first important "Test." Beijing time yesterday, Microsoft v. Motorola Android mobile phone infringement case in the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) Washington headquarters held the first hearing, if the motorcycle was convicted of infringement, the product will be banned in the United States sales. The hearing will last 10 days and the judge will make a preliminary ruling by the end of the year and will make a final decision in 2012. The lawsuit between Microsoft and Motorola is "intricate". Last October, Microsoft filed a lawsuit against ITC, saying that Motorola, in its Android smartphone product, violated Microsoft's many patents, including email, calendar, contact sync, and many other smart features. One months later, Microsoft filed an additional lawsuit, thinking that Motorola was using patents to "compete unfairly" and charging Microsoft too much for royalties. Motorola, too, filed a counterclaim against Microsoft last November, saying that Microsoft's PC and Server software, as well as Windows Mobile and X products, violated Motorola's 16 patents and asked Microsoft to pay high usage costs. Despite the patent lawsuits surrounding Android, the lawsuit between Motorola and Microsoft is seen by the industry as a "vane". A person in the industry said that Google's acquisition of Motorola is to curb patent lawsuits against Android companies, and if Motorola itself fell into the "patent", other manufacturers will inevitably be spared, Google's efforts would be in vain.
