Microsoft: Windows Store is the fastest growing app Store

The 2014 European Game Developers Conference (GDC Europe) was held August 11-13th this year. In a speech to the General Assembly yesterday, Lee Stott, a senior Technology communications manager from Microsoft, commented that Microsoft's Windows and Windows Phone App Store has become the fastest-growing app store since last year's data. According to Microsoft's data, the Windows App Store has reached 415,000 applications, compared with last year's growth of 145%. At the same time, the number of developers registering in the Windows App Store has been more than 410,000, up from 94% year-on-year. Another important indicator, the number of active users, is more than the sum of the previous two, jumped to millions, of which 50% have purchased the application of the content of the pay. In 9 countries, Windows has become the second-largest smartphone platform in the local market, with shipments exceeding the iphone's shipments in 10 countries, Stott said. He did not, however, point out which countries were specific. Microsoft's developers are also slightly different in their access to desktop platforms and Windows platforms. On the desktop platform, the Windows App Store earns 40% of its revenue from advertising content, and 31% of it comes from application fees. On the windows, the revenue from advertising is 29%, and the revenue from application pay is 44%. Apple's App Store app is now more than 1.2 million, according to the data disclosed by Apple CEO Cook at the WWDC2014 convention. Of course, there are more than 1.5 million applications in the googleplaystore of more relaxed and more diversified platforms. While Microsoft's performance is encouraging, it still has a long way to go--and don't forget that Amazon's App store is staring at the back.
