Ministry of Commerce: Research on policies to support the Midwest absorbing foreign capital

Xinhua Beijing, July 15, according to the National Ministry of Commerce website News, Ministry of Commerce spokesman Yao Jian said at a routine conference, is studying the introduction of policies to support the Midwest absorption of foreign investment.　　In response to the Midwest's absorption of foreign investment, Yao said it was true that this year there has been a decline in foreign investment in the Midwest, which is even more pronounced in the central region. Yao said that the Midwest's current decline in foreign investment was due to a fall in the pace of rapid growth in previous years, as well as a general drop in overseas funds, which fell 54% per cent in the first quarter of this year. In such a context, we have the brunt of the impact on the Midwest region. We are also working on policies that focus on supporting regional coordinated development, especially in the Midwest absorbing foreign investment.
