"Mixed Cloud" forms the dominant cloud

What is the state of the 2014 business cloud? According to Rightscale, a provider of SaaS services for businesses, in a recent release of the 2014 Cloud Computing report, almost everyone is using a hybrid cloud first. Second, Amazon remains the first provider of public and private clouds. Third, OpenStack is having a greater impact on the mixed cloud market. The next step in cloud computing is to make self-service IT services a reality.

Rightscale's report collects more than 1000 IT staff from technical or non tech companies from large and small, most of which match the current cloud-computing news you see, but there are some unexpected discoveries.

The results were not surprising, with 94% per cent of respondents saying they had adopted some sort of cloud service. Rightscale the extent to which the cloud is used is divided into four phases, moving past business quickly, we call it the Cloud watch phase, start planning, and build our first cloud project, called "Cloud beginner", the ability to run applications as "cloud Explorers", and finally rely on cloud to become "cloud focus".

So what is the use of mixed clouds? Of the respondents, 58% did not rely solely on the public cloud or the private cloud, but instead took a mixed cloud.

Amazon leads public cloud OpenStack private cloud grows fast

In the Rightscale survey, Amazon ranked first in the public cloud, and the enterprise-class public cloud and small and medium-sized enterprises are in use, or are being considered for use, and the number of many. Ranked 2, 3 are more interesting, respectively, is the Rackspace public cloud and VMware's Vcloud mixed cloud services. Google APP engine also has a strong performance, with Microsoft's Azure behind it.

In the private cloud, VMware has become the first choice with vsphere and vcenter. In the second place is OpenStack. In the private cloud use of small businesses, the actual use of OpenStack is ahead of the overall use, but VMware has a better application performance. The situation contrasts with the gimmicks created by OpenStack's supporters, and OpenStack's use is not as good.

Another trend that Rightscale sees as the development of the cloud is the "self-service" label, an automated way of doing business, allowing developers more free time to work and innovate, and to maintain sufficient stability. The more mature companies use cloud computing, the more they can achieve the level of general automation that has reached 62%, up from 54% last year.

The advantages of cloud computing are within the enterprise, and as the business progresses, the reliance on cloud computing will become more and more deep.
