Changling says cloud computing faces four major challenges:

The first is the application and data security, mainly contains the user sensitive information application system deployment in the public cloud, may have the security hidden danger. In Enterprise private cloud, the information security between various departments must also be considered, especially financial data, customer information and so on.

The second is the operation and standardization, the current cloud computing vendors are fighting each other, and there is no unified standard. The lack of interoperability between different clouds is a huge challenge for users migrating from one cloud environment to another.

Third, service quality assurance, technology is in the process of maturing, quality assurance and management tools need to be further improved. Both Amazon and Google Cloud services have experienced service outages.

The Forth is to change the management mode accordingly. Cloud computing emphasizes the advantages of centralization, as well as the layered coupling management of applications, platforms and resources, facing the great resistance of traditional IT system management and usage patterns.

In order to meet the internal use of China Mobile in March 2007 launched the "Big Cloud" project, through the internal IT system to achieve operational storage, high-performance, Low-cost, scalable, high demand, while China Mobile Sutra will also meet the external provision of Internet business and services needs.

By the end of 2008, China Mobile had built a 256-node cloud computing cluster in the laboratory and released its latest results in May 2009. Since then, China Mobile has expanded the lab system to 1024 nodes. May 2010, China Mobile officially released the "Big Cloud" 1.0 results. "Big Cloud" 1.0 and 2.0 focus on massive data management and sharing, 1.0 to 1.5 focus on computing storage resource pool, the future 2.0, 3.0 will be through the cloud computing platform to achieve real-time transactions.

At the beginning of this year, China Mobile and the Xinhua news Agency launched the Pangu search is built on the "Big Cloud", the bottom of the use of a common cloud computing software platform, to achieve efficient, low-cost, fast online business and high-capacity, high-performance processing capacity.
