Last year, Apple launched the IOS 7 system, the huge changes brought about by the polarization of the evaluation, but still lead the "flat" and other design trends. Previously, the upgraded version of IOS 7.1 was also officially launched to fix some problems. According to past experience, the version after iOS 7.1 will not have much change, so what is really worth looking forward to is iOS 8 ...
With the advent of the WWDC Apple Convention, more and more IOS 8 of information began to flow out, most likely in June this year officially released, and in September with the new IPhone listing. Below, let's take a look at the currently known IOS 8 information.
Healthbook Health Applications
A few days ago, foreign media 9to5mac leaked a large number of iOS system screenshots, most likely a beta version of iOS 8. Among them, the most notable change is the new application called "Healthbook", which can realize abundant motion monitoring function. According to the screenshot, Healthbook can monitor the user's physical activity, heart rate, hydration level, blood pressure and even glycemic index, apparently more powerful than other similar applications.
However, the IPhone 5s only has a M7 motion co-processor, which means that the normal motion monitoring function is not a problem, but the heart rate, blood pressure and blood glucose measurements are not achieved. So does this mean that the new iPhone will be equipped with new sensors or some kind of accessories? It is not known yet.
Apple Map Enhancements
Apple Maps are launched with IOS 61, but the functionality and Word-of-mouth are not comparable to Google Maps. In iOS 7, Apple Maps are enhanced in functionality and accuracy and are expected to be better in iOS 8. According to people familiar with the matter, Apple plans to add trains, subways and bus information to the map, starting with major U.S. cities and gradually expanding to major countries and regions around the world. In addition, it is expected to add new points of interest around the station and the airport.
It is reported that the Apple map interface experience will also be enhanced, Apple is very likely to add an augmented reality feature, the iOS device can be used to view the camera point of interest, but is not sure whether it will appear in iOS 8.
Open Siri Interface
Siri is one of the great expectations of Apple, but the overall development is not as satisfying. To change the situation, Apple may open the Siri interface in IOS 8, which is compatible with more third-party applications and enables richer application forms. In addition, there are rumors that Siri may have contextual awareness, can be based on some of the user's actions to automatically run specific applications, such as running automatically open motion monitoring applications, become a true "smart Assistant."
ITunes Radio becomes an independent application
It is understood that the ITunes Radio service is most likely to appear in IOS 8 as a separate application, and support more countries and regions.
Text editing and previewing applications
Although the IOS 8 interface does not look much different, it will add a variety of new apps. In addition to Healthbook, built-in operating techniques (tips) and new text editing applications are also included. These applications appear to be ported from OS X, text-editing like Notepad, which is equivalent to a memo supplement, while a preview application might make it easier for users to view any document files stored in ICloud.
Other minor changes
Obviously, IOS 8 will also have some minor changes. According to sources, the IOS 8 Notification Center will become more concise and intuitive, and provide automatic delete notification and other functions. In addition, in order to better use the wireless CarPlay feature, the previous mandatory requirements for the Lightning interface are removed. The new API will also be added to better share data with the car platform.
At the same time, Apple will also do some "pruning" of iOS 8, it is possible to remove the game center function, but directly integrated into the bottom of the system, game developers will be added to the Menu Game Center option.
Our expectations for IOS 8
In addition to some of the screenshots and information leaked by 9to5mac, we also want IOS 8 to have more changes, mainly in the following 10 areas:
1. Hide Application Features
Although Apple provides a "restricted access" feature, it does not support all applications. We hope that Apple will provide a more convenient way to hide the application functionality rather than "bugs".
2. Guest Account
One feature that mobile platforms should learn from the desktop platform is to join the Guest account feature. We hope that IOS 8 can provide multiple account features that make it easier for multiple users to use a device to view their applications and content, especially for products like the IPad.
3. Better application Management mechanisms
Apple has added an automatic Update feature to IOS 7, which enables a more convenient use experience. However, we want Apple to add more proprietary options, such as adding cloud functionality, and providing the ability to use data recovery when reinstalling applications.
4. Stronger built-in applications
IOS devices usually do not have many built-in applications pre-installed, and the functionality is relatively simple, but we expect some stronger and better applications to appear. According to the previous exposure information, the new Document application, health applications are worthy of our expectations.
5. Better document management
Obviously, IOS lacks a centralized document-access capability, whether local or ICloud. The preview described earlier should allow us to easily access iwork, PDF files in the device.
6. Facetime Group chat function
FaceTime is now a very useful feature of the Apple ecosystem, but the disadvantage is that it does not yet support group chat and conferencing, so we hope that IOS 8 can be implemented.
7. Notification experience similar to OS X Mavericks
In OS X Mavericks, we can respond directly to notification information, rather than start the application, which can be dramatically increased in operating efficiency if applied to IOS 8.
8. Anti-disturb function
In IOS 7, we can only set a time period of no interruption, not a complete tamper-proof function. Obviously, a no time limit, simple intrusion prevention options can help us.
9. Better text manipulation
IOS replication, clip and other features have been in place for some time, we look forward to better operation and experience.
10. Same screen display two applications
Obviously, the new iPhone is likely to carry a larger size screen this year, and we think a two-app model with the same screen is essential, like Samsung Galaxy, which is also very useful for the iPad.
