Nest founder Bowen: We will change the world at a faster pace

After the acquisition, the company's founder and CEO Tony Fader (Tony Fadell) published the title "Welcome Home" blog, described the company's cooperation with Google, and nest future direction of development. Today is a memorable day for all of my staff, Matt and Nest. We announced the news of the takeover of Google this afternoon. When Nest was founded in 2010, Matt and I were determined to change our home and the world around us. At the time it seemed like a crazy idea to focus on a thermostat, but it was valuable to us. For years, this humble gadget has been so quietly fastened to the wall that nothing has changed. But in fact, it's a huge opportunity to help save energy and money. We believe that we can do better. So we started to improve the product. From the beginning, we want to give the home system awareness, so that it is more thoughtful, more intuitive, more beautiful. Although no one has cracked the puzzle, but we firmly believe that we can develop the right products, build a first-class team, find the right direction. Time flies, time flies, we are gradually achieving the goal of the year. Our products have won the favor of users in the major shopping malls have been sought after, but also installed to thousands of households. We have established partnerships with a number of energy giants in the United States to help people save energy and money. We also have a professional certification staff of up to 25,000 people to help users in the United States and Canada install Nest products. Our company currently has more than 300 employees in 3 countries. Since all goes well, why do you have to work with Google? Google will help us realize the dream of "conscious home". This kind of cooperation can also help us to change the world at a faster pace than independent development. We already have a strong momentum, but Google can bring us speeding. Google has business resources, global tentacles, and a platform to drive nest in the areas of hardware and software and services, helping us to reach more families around the world. Google is completely in line with our philosophy-we all believe that technology should be allowed to deal with the heavy behind-the-scenes work that allows humanity to enjoy a wonderful life. Google promises to help nest achieve breakthroughs, we will work together to save more energy for users, so that users feel more secure at home. This decision is not a whim--in our nearly 4-year history, Google has been at the intersection of us for 3 years. As a matter of fact, I had a meeting with Google as long ago as Nest formally launched the product. At the TED conference in 2011, Eric Charlton and I Erik Charlton to Sergey (Sergey Brin) to show him the effect of Nest intelligent thermostat. This immediately stimulated his interest, and when we showed it to the other employees of Google, they showed the same enthusiasm. May 2011, Google VC led the voteOur B-round financing, in 2012 again led to a C round of financing. There are so many commonalities, so we know that the transition period will be very smooth after joining Google. Nest or nest, we will still keep our brand. We will continue to transform the household products that people have turned a blind eye to, as they did at the beginning of our business. We are also going to push our products around the world faster. I love nest design and development of a variety of products, but also love the excellent team behind. It is these incentives that I devote myself to my work every morning with passion. I will continue to lead Nest and Matt will go on as engineering director. Nothing will change.
