Gartner, the Information technology research and consulting firm, and International Data Corporation (IDC) have released forecasts for the 2014 digital industry, covering large data, information technology, intelligent machine applications, IoT and cloud services.

The information Technology (IT) industry is growing in momentum. International data companies believe that the information technology industry's total spending will increase 5.1% to 2.14 trillion U.S. dollars, PC revenue will fall by 6%. Global sales of smartphones and tablets will continue to grow rapidly, with servers, storage, networks, software and services spending less than 2013 years. In the BRICS, its consumption of information technology, driven by China's economic growth, rose 13% per cent from a year earlier, with China's growth in information consumption flat in the U.S. in dollar terms, despite only one-third of the U.S. market share.
