Facebook's news aggregation reading application, monitors, has released an iOS client update that adds a new set of features like birthday and event reminders, photo reviews, group message reminders, and more. Monitors officially landed in the app Store February 3 this year, releasing just 10 weeks.
This update, Facebook has added birthday and activity reminders to monitors, and as with Facebook, users can choose to receive reminders.
Monitors also added a picture-commenting function, because sometimes it is difficult to express the feelings of the heart exactly. Click on the camera button next to the comment box to add a photo to the comment.
Monitors has a group function from the start, and the update also adds group message reminders. Click the "Hamburg" icon in the group to set up the Receive group message.
Monitors has also expanded on news sources, adding 9 to the original 50 news sources, including Bloomberg news, Mashable, FT, Kottke, Fox News, Popular Science, the Yap Reporter, Vanity Fair, and Hacker News.
Other updates also include a new message on another topic that shows an arrow reminder and fixes for some bugs while reading.
According to Facebook, monitors users browse 80 articles per day on average from 5 to 6 themes, including headlines, technology, creativity, League of Legends and popular life. However, Facebook did not say when the app would go to markets outside the US and when it would launch Android clients.
