News Corp nominates Breyer as director Rupert Murdoch welcomes

Sina Science and technology news Beijing time September 2, the U.S. Science and technology blog TechCrunch Friday reported that venture capital company Accel Partners Partner Jim Breye (Jim Breyer) has been nominated into the News Corp board. News Corp shareholders will vote on the nomination at the annual shareholder meeting, held on October 21, 2011.  News Corp also announced that directors Kenneth Cauli (Kenneth Cowley) and Thomas Parkins (Thomas Perkins) would then resign as directors.  Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corp, said Breyer had a successful experience in the investment community and would be able to make a huge contribution to News Corp's board of directors with a background in the media and technology sectors. Breyer has invested in a number of well-known companies, including Facebook, UberMedia, Brightcove, Prosper, Vostu, Legendary Pictures and Etsy, and he is also a director of Wal-Mart and Dell Inc.
