Press Release-May 2012-United States National Instruments (limited, NI) recently released the NI PXIe-8115 high-performance embedded controller, equipped with the latest intel® second-generation CORE™I5 dual-core processor, to shorten the test time, is the ideal choice for multicore applications. The NI PXIe-8115 controller has multiple peripherals I/O ports and 6 industry-leading USB 2.0 ports. These onboard peripheral ports minimize the number of external adapters and help engineers build a hybrid system that is cost-effective. The In-rom and hard drive diagnostics of the NI PXIe-8115 Embedded controller can determine the health status of the controller, thereby improving the operation performance and minimizing the system downtime. Combining the controller with the NI LabVIEW system design software, engineers can improve development efficiency in various test, measurement and control applications. The   Intel Core i5-2510e Processor provides the basic clock frequency of the 2.5 GHz for the NI PXIe-8115 controller and uses Intel Turbo boost technology to automatically increase the clock frequency based on the application type. For example, when running an application that generates only a single processing thread, the CPU places an unused kernel in an idle state and raises the clock frequency of the active kernel from 2.5 GHz to 3.1 GHz. This eliminates the need for multi-threaded software applications to adopt the latest CPU.   It can operate both in dual-core and High-performance mono-core mode, which allows the controller to be applied to a variety of applications, including high-performance automated testing and industrial control.     In addition to High-performance CPUs, the NI PXIe-8115 controller is equipped with 6 USB 2.0 ports, 2 display ports that can connect multiple monitors, dual gigabit Ethernet, GPIB, serial, and parallel ports. With rich peripherals I/O, users do not need to purchase a single PXI module. The slots in the PXI chassis support measurement modules rather than standard I/O, so engineers can optimize their use. For applications that consume larger memory, the controller also has standard 2 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory, up to 8 GB and supports Windows 7 64-bit operating systems. The NI PXIe-8115 controller combines the NI PXIe-1082 chassis to be suitable for deep analysis, signal and image processing, and high speed data acquisition.     In order to improve the stability of PXI system, the NI PXIe-8115 controller is equipped with In-rom and hard drive diagnostic function to ensure the operation performance of PXI embedded controller.
