Nokia and Accenture complete Symbian Outsourcing service agreement

Sina Science and technology news Beijing time June 22, Nokia and Accenture have completed a deal on Nokia to outsource Symbian software development and support work to Accenture agreement. The cooperation agreement was first announced on April 27, 2011. According to the agreement, Accenture will provide Nokia with Symbian software development and support services until 2016. Some 2,800 Nokia employees, including China, Finland, India, the UK and the US, are expected to be transferred to Accenture, where the shift will take place in October 2011. The agreement also listed Accenture as a priority supplier for Nokia's transition to Windows Phone.  Accenture will also be working on the Windows Phone platform to provide Nokia with mobile software, business and operational services. Marty Cole, the chief executive of Accenture, and Joe Hallo Jo Harlow, executive vice president of Nokia's smart devices, Matty Core a bullish outlook on both sides. (New Tie)
