Nokia doesn't sell mobile phones.

Perhaps in just a few weeks, Nokia will no longer be the familiar Nokia. After agreeing to sell equipment and services for 5.4 billion euros, Nokia will be divided into two parts: the handset sector will become part of Microsoft after the deal is completed later this year, and Nokia's non mobile assets will become an independent company. The business will continue to carry the name of Nokia, and its headquarters will remain in Finland, but it is a completely different company from Nokia, which has hosted the handset market for the past more than 20 years. Nokia is not allowed to produce mobile phones for at least two years under a Nokia-Microsoft agreement. Without the handset business, Nokia will be comprised of three departments: the network Equipment Department NSN, the map department here, and the third department, which covers all other businesses, including research and development. The third sector will be named "Advanced Technology Department" (Advanced Technologies), with a staff size of about 600 people. Nokia executives are now studying the direction of the company's future after the deal is completed and are expected to draw conclusions this quarter. The Nokia CTO (Chief Technology Officer), Henry Thiry Henry Tirri, is one of the top executives responsible for studying the company's direction. "My current life has two different worlds, one is the world before the end of the transaction, the other is the world after the end of the transaction." In my daily work, I am still the CTO of Nokia, responsible for research and development, advanced technology, standardization, and some special projects and some platform assets. "Of course, the deal will be done sooner or later, so I need to prepare for the new Nokia strategy," Thiry told the media at the slush conference in Helsinki at the end of last year. "What about the new Nokia?" Thiry's CTO office will become "the backbone of the advanced technology Sector", which works on research and development, which has contributed two-thirds to Nokia's new intellectual property rights each year, and the office will still be responsible for this after the new Nokia has been formed. One of the most important tasks of the "advanced technology sector" is broadcasting technology, which was once an important support for the Nokia mobile Empire, but the company will shift its focus to the field of non-cellular connectivity. Sensor technology, imaging, audio and cloud technologies will be within the scope of the new Nokia Research and development department. On the future of technology, Thiry concluded: "Everything can be interconnected (referring to broadcasting technology research), everything will be digitized and real-time update (refers to cloud technology), all through the technology to perceive the environment (sensor technology)."
