Nokia released its third-quarter financial results for fiscal year 2014 today, Beijing time October 23. Earnings showed Nokia's net revenue for the third quarter was € 3.3 billion, up 13% from 2.9 billion euros in the same period last year, with a net profit of 747 million euros and a net loss of 91 million euros over the same period last year to achieve a turnround. Performance Highlights: • Diluted earnings per share of € 0.19, 0.04 euros for the same period last year, and 0.09 euros per share for international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and 0.06 euros for the same period last year; net revenue was 3.3 billion euros, compared with € 2.9 billion in the same period last year. Nokia network Business • Nokia net revenue for the third quarter was € 2.9 billion, up 13% from 2.6 billion euros in the same period last year; • Nokia's network business gained strong operating profit in the third quarter, with no IFRS, operating profit of 397 million euros, accounting for 13.5% of net revenue 217 million euros in the same period last year, net revenue from the 8.4%; Nokia net revenue and operating profit significantly boosted by the deployment of major new LTE networks in North America and Greater China, and the deployment of new networks has benefited mobile broadband. Nokia technology Business Nokia's technology business has a net revenue of € 152 million in the third quarter, up 9% per cent from 140 million euros in the same period last year, thanks to Microsoft becoming the more important intellectual property licensing holder of the company. Nokia estimates that the capital expenditure for the 2014-year sustainable operation is about € 250 million, mainly from Nokia's online business, which was expected to be € 200 million.
