Tencent Technology News get rid of cell phone business "burden" after Nokia, from the mental outlook, it seems to become another technology company. In an attempt to avoid a repeat of the tragedy of the cellphone business (which has led to the decline of new technology), Nokia staged a frenzy of mergers and acquisitions that led to two more major acquisitions this past week.

It is reported that Nokia's two mergers and acquisitions, the main purpose is to enhance the strength of the mobile communications equipment business as a pillar.

First of all, Nokia announced the acquisition of a company called "SAC Wireless" in the United States, which is mainly engaged in the construction of mobile communication base stations. Nokia did not announce the acquisition amount externally.

The company employs 450 people and works with major U.S. mobile operators. Nokia said it will be able to solve many of the problems that plagued companies in the past after the deal was completed: helping carriers choose their base station addresses, applying for licenses, subcontracting base-station construction projects, and so on.

The acquisition will be completed in the third quarter of this year, Nokia said the acquisition will also help companies increase revenue.

In the first quarter of 2014, Nokia's mobile communications equipment business contributed 3.2 billion U.S. dollars, down 17% from the same period of last year. This is not a good signal for Nokia because 90% of the company's revenue comes from this business (the other part of Nokia's map business is very small). With the acquisition of SAC, Nokia can enhance the construction of mobile network and expand related income .

According to several media reports on the 4th, Nokia once again conducted a business acquisition in Israel. It acquired a solution and technology for 3D geolocation from a company called NICE Systems. This enhances Nokia's technical capabilities in mobile network planning and optimization.

It is reported that the 3D model-based geolocation technology can give customers mobile devices the best performance in a multi-operator network environment.

Nokia said that with the global deployment of 4G networks and the trend of miniaturization of mobile base stations, which requires network construction companies to conduct accurate 3D geographical positioning, which will also improve the ability of Nokia service operators to build stations.

After transferring the mobile phone business, Nokia only has two businesses of mobile communication equipment and digital map. The outside world noticed that Nokia is taking advantage of the large amount of cash it receives from Microsoft transactions to act as the "big gold buyer" in the M & A market. This year, Nokia has acquired a number of companies to enhance the strength of mobile devices and maps. (Dawn)
