New details of the Nokia takeover were unveiled last week, and one of the terms of the deal, according to AllThingsD, was that Nokia would receive € 1.5 billion in loans from Microsoft, or about $2 billion. Nokia said in Friday that it might get the loan from Microsoft by issuing bonds. By the time the deal is formally accepted, Nokia's bonds will be purchased by Microsoft as a transaction amount, or some of the bonds may be converted into long-term loans, and may be converted into Nokia shares. Nokia said the money would be used to pay for debt borrowed from the Siemens Network Equipment division and for general "corporate purposes".
