Nokia also said it had applied to the US, UK and Canadian authorities to implement the arbitration results.

In 2003, Nokia and Rim signed a cross-licensing agreement covering some of the key technology in the mobile phone industry. The agreement was revised in 2008. Rim filed a request for arbitration in 2011, saying the agreement should extend to WLAN technology patents.

In Wednesday, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce made a favorable arbitration for Nokia. "Rim shall not manufacture or sell products compatible with WLAN standards without the prior consent of Nokia," the arbitration said. ”

Nokia said: "The arbitration shows that rim has breached the contract." RIM is not authorized to manufacture or sell WLAN products without prior agreement with us. ”

Nokia also said it had applied to the US, UK and Canadian authorities to implement the arbitration results. "This will have a big impact on rim because all BlackBerry devices support WLANs, although the current sales in these countries are not very high," said Francisco Jeronimo, IDC analyst Francisco Geronimo. ”

In the wireless market, Nokia is one of the leading patent holders, with an annual patent revenue of up to € 500 million (about 646 million US dollars). Based on the sale of patent trading by Nortel and the acquisition of Motorola Mobile by Google, some investors and analysts said Nokia's current share price is about € 2.5 and its patent assets are worth only 2.5 euros per share.

But after the deal was completed, the patent market began to cool, and now Nokia's patent assets may be worth only 0.5 euros per share.
